As a perennial leader in health care in Florida, University of Florida Health Shands Hospital is once again recognized by the U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals rankings for excellence in adult patient care, with seven medical specialties ranked among the nation's elite. Combined with the five pediatric specialties ranked in the nation's top 50 by U.S. News & World Report, UF Health Shands has 12 specialties recognized.
We are currently seeking a Director of Hospital Safety. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring safety programs and initiatives for UF Health Gainesville campus. Responsible for the management of the Environment of Care (EOC) Safety and Life Safety Plans in order to minimize hazards and reduce risk of injury to patients, visitors, and staff. Oversees the Disaster Preparedness Emergency Program for the organization.
Qualifications
Required Education:
BS Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Business Administration or Master's Healthcare Administration
Necessary Skills: Proven leadership skills. Able to lead and influence individuals outside of the Safety department. Ability to collaborate with leaders in different areas. Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills. 3+ years of experience in Joint Commission Environment of Care standards. 5+ years in a leadership position in a large healthcare organization. Preferred Experience: 3+ years of experience as Chairman or Co-Chair of an Environment of Care Committee.
