Project Location – Tallahassee, FL (100% Onsite)

Duration- Long Term contract

A state government IT office is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator – Cloud & Infrastructure to support the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms that power enterprise infrastructure, applications, data, and business operations.
This role includes managing user access, archiving, implementing security measures, monitoring shared resources, and contributing to infrastructure design and coordination across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings experience in infrastructure administration, application development, data management, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
Key responsibilities span Microsoft 365 platforms, multi-cloud environments, external hosting, identity and access management, security hardening, privacy, and compliance.
The position is also responsible for daily server operations, systems maintenance, and resolving complex technical issues supporting enterprise functions.
Responsibilities

  • Support and expand enterprise infrastructure
  • Coordinate server configuration and administration with internal teams and contractors
  • Recommend future server and software upgrades
  • Monitor systems and applications for security, availability, and performance
  • Evaluate network performance: availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, latency
  • Plan and execute equipment installation, configuration, testing, and firewall setup
  • Perform systems monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, and vendor escalation
  • Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment
  • Identify and implement solutions for improved performance, cost, and efficiency
  • Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines
  • Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings
  • Recommend and support the build/hosting of complex application solutions
  • Deploy and manage Microsoft Azure and other cloud services
  • Deploy and manage Microsoft Power Platform
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services
  • Support IT staff, including developers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of related experience

3–5 years of experience in:

  • Infrastructure/network operations, support, maintenance, and administration
  • Middleware support (API Management, IT Service Automation tools, batch job services)

2–3 years of experience with:

  • Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022)
  • IIS Administration
  • Network communications (TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS, NTFS permissions)

Proficient in:

  • Documenting and automating administrative tasks
  • Networking principles and cloud-based network architectures
  • Microsoft Azure Services
  • Microsoft Server products
  • Microsoft 365 services
