TheSystem Administratorwill advance the capabilities of theCommander Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command(CNMOC)by providing maintenance support forsoftware and operational systems.CNMOCis located at NASA's Stennis SpaceCenterand the work would be performedinCNMOC'sspaces. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the proper function ofLinux serverson a classified network. The Administrator will work withother administrators to secure and maintain systems, withsoftware developers to incorporate customsoftwareontooperational networks, and with network users to troubleshoot issues.

Job Duties:

  • Linux OS operation and administration includingcrondeployments, software installations, file system maintenance, user/group administration

  • Perform troubleshooting as issues are reported through formal trouble ticketing

  • Maintain and upgrade operating systems;Perform installationsand patchesofoperating system(s)

  • Perform installations and patches ofcustomdeveloped software modules

  • Maintain a virtualized environment with high availability

  • Coordinatewith network administratorsto optimizesystemperformance

  • The contractor shall conduct system administration tasks following DoD,DoN, and NAVOCEANO policies, processes and guidelines

RequiredExperience:

  • Bachelor's Degree inInformation Technology,Computer Scienceor relevant technical field

  • 2+yearsofexperienceas a Linux System Administrator performing patching and configuring systems

  • 3years of experienceas systems administratoror software developer

  • Strong communication skills

  • Active Secret Clearance withSSBI (Tier 5 investigation)

Additional consideration for:

  • CompTIA Security+ certification

  • CompTIA Linux+ certification

  • Experience with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL and Oracle

  • Experiencewith VMWare products (VSphere,ESXi) to perform basic administration of systems

  • Experience with mass storagesystems (NetApp)

  • Experience administering user accountsand permissions in both Linux and Windows environments (LDAP)

  • Experience with Server administration to include troubleshooting of a system and routing system patching

  • Understanding of theDoWSTIG application process
