Job Summary:
CesiumAstro is a company that develops innovative communication systems for satellites and airborne platforms. They are seeking an IT Systems Administrator II who will be responsible for managing IT systems, providing user support, and ensuring compliance with federal standards. The role involves maintaining hardware and software, upgrading systems, and assisting staff with IT tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Build, deploy, and administer Windows and Ubuntu desktops, laptops, servers, and lab systems, including virtual machines.
• Support Windows and Linux machines in an Active Directory environment.
• Manage network and online file storage.
• Respond to issues in a timely manner via our ticketing system.
• Maintain hardware, software, and licensing inventory and baselines.
• Configure and maintain conferencing A/V setups and digital signage.
• Keep documentation up to date.
• Identify software and infrastructure needs and suggest solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate information technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with the administration of both Windows and Linux systems.
• Good base knowledge of networking.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Proficiency with Ubuntu, Windows 11, Windows Server 2019 & 2022, VMware ESXi, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, WSL, and Active Directory.
