Position: Sr. Systems Administrator - Windows, AWS & Azure

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Duration: 10+ Months [Extension Possible]

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments for a large government organization. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows Server infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and supporting technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Windows Server administration, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise infrastructure operations and enjoys supporting mission-critical systems in a complex, production environment.

This position requires an individual who can independently manage production environments, resolve complex infrastructure issues, and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing enterprise systems.

Skills/Experience Needed:

  • 5 8+ years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
  • 2 3+ years of hands-on AWS administration experience.
  • 2 3+ years of Windows Server administration (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Experience administering IIS.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts including: TCP/IP, DNS, NTFS Permissions, Samba/CIFS
  • Experience administering Linux (RedHat and Ubuntu).
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting production enterprise environments.
  • Flexibility to work between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM as needed.
  • Participation in after-hours support, weekends, and on-call rotations may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments.
  • Configure, deploy, and support IIS-hosted applications.
  • Manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Support Microsoft Azure environments, Azure services, and Azure DevOps projects.
  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure.
  • Monitor system health, availability, security, and overall performance.
  • Troubleshoot production infrastructure, application, and server issues.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Support identity and access management processes.
  • Configure and maintain DNS, TCP/IP, NTFS permissions, file sharing, and related networking components.
  • Manage Azure DevOps projects, repositories, and deployment pipelines.
  • Support Linux servers (RedHat and Ubuntu) including administration and patch management.
  • Assist development teams with application hosting, deployments, and infrastructure support.
  • Recommend infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and automation opportunities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Participate in after-hours support, maintenance windows, and on-call rotations as required.
