Job Summary

The Senior Technical Instructor is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining United Aero Group's global technical training program, supporting both internal personnel and international Channel Partners. This role serves as UAG's technical ambassador, ensuring technicians operating within UAG's authorized network are trained to a consistent standard while promoting regulatory compliance, standardized repair techniques, and operational excellence. The position will include domestic and international travel to customer facilities, partner repair stations, and training centers.

General Accountabilities

  • Develop and deliver instructor-led classroom training covering aircraft components, repair procedures, inspection techniques, tooling requirements and quality standards
  • Conduct practical hands-on training utilizing actual aircraft components, tooling test equipment, and production environments.
  • Provide structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) that enables technicians to safely and effectively transition from classroom learning to independent performance.
  • Conduct recurrent training to ensure continued compliance with qualification requirements and evolving technical standards.
  • Standardize repair methodologies across multiple geographic locations to ensure uniform quality and process consistency.
  • Support startup operations by assisting new facilities in achieving workforce readiness, qualification compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Create, revise, and maintain technical training manuals covering repair processes, inspection techniques, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance expectations.
  • Develop detailed student training guides that support both classroom and practical learning activities.
  • Develop technician competency evaluations that accurately measure technical knowledge and practical skill levels.
  • Ensure all technical training programs comply with applicable FAA Part 145 regulations and Repair Station requirements.
  • Maintain alignment between training curricula and UAG's Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), Procedures Manual, and associated operating procedures.
  • Verify completion and validation of On-the-Job Training requirements.
  • Record instructor observations, coaching activities, and performance improvement actions.
  • Interface professionally with Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities, military organizations, OEM representatives, international customers, and Channel Partners.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance instructions.
  • Proficient in the use of standard and specialized hand tools, with an understanding of tool calibration procedures.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Attention to detail & manual dexterity.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and adaptability while working in international environments.
  • Must be eligible to participate in and comply with the company's FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing program.

Education and Experience:

  • FAA Airframe& Powerplant (A&P) Certificate is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of rotorcraft maintenance experience performing inspection, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • 5+ years of rotor blade or component overhaul experience.
  • Previous FAA Repair Station experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs.
  • OEM instructor certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS). 

Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent travel required up to 50%, including approximately 25% domestic and 25% international travel, based on Channel Partner development, customer support, and training needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, and service components.
  • Must have visual acuity to visually inspect components.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
