The UAE is known for its diverse workforce, attracting expatriates from around the world due to tax-free salaries and modern infrastructure. Working in the UAE typically involves obtaining a work visa sponsored by an employer, and labor laws regulate working hours, holidays, and employee rights. Job seekers should be aware of cultural norms and legal requirements before accepting a position in the UAE.

What are some common challenges expatriates face when working in the UAE, and how can they prepare for them?

Expatriates working in the UAE often encounter challenges such as adapting to a new cultural environment, understanding local workplace etiquette, and navigating visa or residency processes. It's important to familiarize yourself with UAE labor laws, business customs, and local expectations regarding communication and dress code. Proactively seeking cultural orientation, networking with other expatriates, and maintaining open communication with your HR department can help ease the transition and ensure a positive work experience.

BroadPeak Capital

Atlanta, GA โ€ข On-site

Job description

BroadPeak is building a technology and operations base in Dubai, and we're looking for a hands-on leader to get it off the ground. You will stand up the office, build and lead the team, drive the modernization of the software behind our brands, and grow the operation into a larger business over time. You report directly to the Founder & CEO and ownership. This is a ground-floor build for an ambitious operator who wants the mandate to create something โ€” not a seat in an established organization.

About BroadPeak

BroadPeak Investment Group (BIG) is an operator-led private investment firm and family office partnering with exceptional founder-led and family-owned businesses globally. We don't just write checks โ€” we build alongside you, leveraging the same entrepreneurial spirit that built our own companies. Founded by Tariq Farid, BIG's portfolio spans a large franchise system (Edibleยฎ), Roti Modern Mediterranean, and brands across consumer, restaurant, wellness, technology, supply chain, and mobility. Our AI operating platform, FranAiโ„ข, is deployed across the companies we build, acquire, and invest in. This role supports companies across that portfolio.

The Role

You get the Dubai office off the ground and build the team that runs it. You own the technology end-to-end โ€” leading the replatforming of our franchise management systems onto a modern, AI-native architecture and the rollout of AI across our brands โ€” and you stay handsโ€‘on enough to set the standard, not just manage it. You hire and lead the Dubai team, direct scaled delivery across our Pakistan office and India partners, and work with our PRO on licensing and setup so your focus stays on technology and team. You report directly to the Founder & CEO and ownership in the US, with the mandate to grow this into a larger business as it scales.

What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Hands-on technical leadership โ€” you can drive a legacy-to-AI-native replatforming yourself, not just oversee it.
  • Proven teamโ€‘building โ€” you've hired, built, and led engineering teams, including distributed/offshore teams in South Asia.
  • Applied AI in delivery โ€” real LLM integration and agent orchestration, not theory.
  • An operator who builds โ€” comfortable standing something up from the ground with limited scaffolding.
  • Domain advantage โ€” franchise, retail, or multiโ€‘tenant SaaS platforms.
  • 8โ€“12+ years, including leading engineering teams, and ready to step into a Managing Director mandate.
  • Onโ€‘site in Dubai, UAE, working hours overlapping the US East Coast morning (approximately 1:00โ€“10:00 PM UAE time). UAE-based preferred; open to candidates who will relocate promptly โ€” we support residency and Golden Visa processing.
  • English essential; Arabic a strong advantage.
Compensation

Competitive, taxโ€‘free salary, with statutory entitlements provided in line with UAE Labor Law and the full package finalized at the offer stage. The real draw here is the mandate โ€” build the team and the business, report directly to ownership, and grow into a larger remit as the business scales. Weโ€™re open on level for the right person.

Location:

Onโ€‘site at our new Dubai, UAE office (opening August 2026). Working hours overlap the US East Coast morning โ€” approximately 1:00โ€“10:00 PM UAE time.
