Job description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Temp Services is seeking a Parking Services Specialist.
The Parking Services Specialist supports the daily operations of UAB's parking facilities by ensuring adherence to parking regulations, assisting with special events, and identifying maintenance needs. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide courteous service to the UAB community and visitors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor campus parking facilities to ensure compliance with UAB and city parking regulations and ordinances.
  • Assist with special event parking by managing entrance access to gated lots and ensuring designated areas are properly reserved or blocked.
  • Report damaged, missing, or incorrect signage, as well as striping or barrier issues, to the Assistant Director for Parking Facilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Title: Parking Services Specialist (Temporary)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Hourly Rate: $15.00/hour
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record as determined by UAB policy.
  • Ability to work independently and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and observation skills
