Summary: The Commingling Operator is responsible for preparing, processing, and combining mail from multiple clients or mail streams to maximize postal discounts and ensure efficient mail distribution. This role operates mailing equipment, verifies mailing data, maintains quality standards, and ensures all mail is prepared according to USPS regulations and company procedures.
2nd Shift: 6:00 pm - 4:00 am
Responsibilities:
- Operate commingling and mail-processing equipment to combine mail from multiple jobs and clients.
- Review production schedules and prioritize work to meet mailing deadlines.
- Verify mail pieces, counts, tray labels, pallet labels, and mailing documentation for accuracy.
- Prepare mail for USPS entry, including sorting, traying, sleeving, banding, and palletizing.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor operational issues.
- Perform quality checks to ensure proper mail sequencing, barcoding, addressing, and postal compliance.
- Maintain accurate production records and mailing reports.
- Coordinate with data processing, production, and postal affairs teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Follow USPS regulations, postal requirements, and company operating procedures.
- Assist with mail reconciliation and verification of production counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in preventive maintenance activities and report equipment issues promptly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce postage costs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in direct mail, print production, mailing operations, or postal processing preferred.
- Knowledge of USPS mail classifications, postal regulations, and commingling practices preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret production documents, job tickets, and mailing reports.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with production software.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range: $17 - $18 per hour
