Overview

Since the doors opened more than 59 years ago, UF Health Leesburg Hospital has continued to build upon its reputation as a leading medical center and the most comprehensive provider of health care services in the region. The hospital offers advanced cardiovascular care, including one of the largest open-heart programs in Florida. The American College of Cardiology has recognized UF Health Leesburg Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primacy PCI and Resuscitation โ€” its highest and best level of accreditation. The hospital also offers world-class orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery, life-saving emergency care, stroke treatment, labor & delivery, and so much more.


Responsibilities

Works under the direction of the Director of Therapy Services and/or the Supervisor of Therapy Services. The Physical Therapist provides direct patient care to all those patients referred for PT at UF Health Leesburg, UF Health Leesburg Rehabilitation Hospital and UF Health The Villages. The Physical Therapist participates in all team conferences, staff meetings and any other appropriate meetings deemed necessary by the specific unit. The Physical Therapist is able to interact on a professional basis with all Therapy Team members, is able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in reference to specific age groups. The Physical Therapist demonstrates competency to plan, initiate and evaluate care for patients in accordance with discipline specific therapy standards as defined by the Florida Department of Health, Board of PT. The therapist provides instruction and assistance to all Therapy Team members and acts in compliance with the ethical conduct of the organization at all times.


Qualifications

Education:
- Professional School

Bachelors Degree, Required 

Masters Degree, DPT Preferred 
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Florida Licensed Physical Therapist
- BLS
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
