Dining Services oversees over 30 dining locations on campus with residential dining halls, retail dining, concessions and catering. The department employs over 850 employees in a typical year. In addition to serving food to the campus community, Dining Services also works in conjunction with departments and various groups in planning their events and ensuring university requirements are met.
Your Role on the Team
Under supervision of Food Service Manager and or Sr. Cook, incumbent performs journeyman level food preparation. This would include: proper food handling, proper knife and equipment handling, proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment. Recording of product usage, plating of food, portion control, cooking, assisting in catering and special events.
Partial Year Career Position is for 10 months at 100%. Must work Nights and Weekends.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
  • Skill to communicate clearly to a variety of people.
  • Speak, write and understand the English language.

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of cooking and food preparation.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling guidelines.
  • Operating equipment correctly, stocking ability.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing.
  • 1-3 Years Experience as a Cook or closely related role.
  • 1-3 Years Experience as a cook involving the preparation and cooking of a variety of food in large quantities in the kitchen of a club, restaurant, hospital or other institute.

Special Conditions:
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and special events.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $25.00- $25.00 (Hourly).
