Job description

Please Note: This is a 100% in-office position based out of our HQ office in NYC.

The Creative Studio is responsible for creating design, brand identities, and marketing campaigns that support our agents and elevate Compass and its affiliate brands. We partner across the business to bring strategic initiatives to life with the highest level of creative excellence.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Motion Designer with exceptional craft, sharp typography, and systematic brand thinking. Partnering with Creative Directors, Producers, and Marketing leads, you'll translate static identities into fluid motion: storyboarding marketing campaigns, animating high-impact product launches, and building scalable motion systems that elevate our brand across every touchpoint.

At Compass You Will:
  • Bring Marketing Campaigns to Life: Spearhead motion design and execution for high-impact brand campaigns, regional brokerage promotions, and national marketing initiatives. You will own projects from concept, storyboarding, and style frames through to final animation, rendering, and compositing.
  • Build Tools to Empower Our Agents & Internal Teams: Build scalable motion systems, dynamic video templates, and customizable social assets that empower agents and our brokerages to market themselves and their listings with premium polish.
  • Bring Product Launches to Life: Partner with Creative Director, Producers and product teams to translate new feature releases and software tools into engaging, story-driven product launch videos and animations that clearly communicate value to our network.
  • Elevate Brand & Motion Systems: Maintain visual excellence across all moving assets, pushing the boundaries of typography, timing, transitions, and animation to keep the Compass aesthetic ahead of the industry.
  • Thrive in a Fast-Paced Studio: Excel in a high-volume, collaborative environment where stunning aesthetics, brand consistency, and rapid execution go hand in hand.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience: 4-5+ years in motion design with a portfolio spanning brand campaigns, sizzle reels, and product launches. Proven ability to build clean files, dynamic templates, and scalable motion systems.
  • Technical Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in After Effects (animation, compositing, templates), Premiere Pro (editing), and Figma (UI/UX manipulation).
  • Design & Storytelling: Exceptional editorial pacing, composition, typography, and visual brand execution.
  • Communication: Ability to pitch motion concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with non-technical partners and clients.
  • Agility: Thrives in fast-paced environments: managing multiple active briefs and delivering polished work under tight deadlines.
  • Generative AI (Plus): Hands-on experience with GenAI tools (e.g., Midjourney, Flora, Higgsfield) for concepting and asset creation is a major plus.
Compensation & Perks
  • Salary Range: Base pay of $90,000 - $103,000 annually (varies based on experience and skills). Bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs) may be provided as part of the total package.
  • Incentive Programs: Eligible cash, equity, or commission participation.
  • Time Off & Leave: Paid vacation, holidays, sick time, parental leave, and dedicated recharge leave.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, tele-health, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) plan; FSAs; life & disability insurance.
  • Family Support: Maven (new parent support), Carrot (fertility benefits), and UrbanSitter (caregiver referral network).
  • Perks: Commuter program, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and pet insurance.
How to Apply

Please submit your resume along with a portfolio link and demo reel (required) showcasing your ability to build scalable motion design systems (templates, toolkits, and modular assets for marketing campaigns and product launches), logo animations, and examples of strong graphic design fundamentals (typography, layout, and visual brand collateral).
