Description

The Graphic Design program at Elizabethtown College invites applications for a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor to teach in-person Typography during the 2027 Spring semester.ย 


ART 209 Typography and Text Design introduces students to the foundations and history of typography, emphasizing its role in visual communication across print and digital media. Students explore typographic design through hands-on projects and develop a personal creative style. Experiential learning and industry preparation are key components of the course.



Requirements

ย Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Typographyย 

Prepare course materials and assessments aligned with departmental standards and learning outcomesย 

Provide timely feedback and academic support to studentsย 

Foster connections between typographic history, design principles, and contemporary applicationsย 

Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student successย 


Required Qualifications:

PhD or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Media , Visual Communication, or a closely related field, or significant industry experience

Demonstrated ability to teach typography and design at the college levelย 

Strong communication and interpersonal skillsย 

Commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching

**Must reside in either Pennsylvania or Maryland due to payroll limitations.
