Job Title: Medical Scribe

Position Type: Contract / Part-Time

  • Time: 8:30 AM โ€“ 12:30 PM

  • Hours per Week: 4


Job Summary

The Medical Scribe provides professional and courteous support to patients and clinicians during clinic visits. This role focuses on real-time documentation, patient escorting, and administrative support to help improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients throughout their clinic visit and guide them to exam rooms

  • Follow assigned clinician and accurately document Subjective and Objective portions of SOAP notes in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Document patient history in accordance with clinic procedures

  • Assist providers with additional support tasks as directed

  • Prepare and distribute patient education materials as needed

  • Provide telephone data collection under the direction of an RN or provider

  • Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and clinic standards

  • Support clinic staff and clinicians to enhance patient quality of care

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives


Required Skills & Experience
  • Typing speed of 75 WPM or higher (typing test required with resume submission)

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology

  • Advanced computer skills and experience with specialized software

  • High accuracy in data entry

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Effective problem-solving and written communication skills


Preferred Skills
  • Oncology experience

  • Prior medical scribe or clinical documentation experience


Education Requirements
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
