Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | INDUSTRIAL FOREMAN | Reading, PA

A project-based industrial services contractor headquartered in the Reading, PA area is hiring three Industrial Foremen to support an active book of rigging, OEM equipment installation, millwright, pipe fitting, and plant move projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. This is a non-union shop, and the foremen here are working leads — in the work alongside the crew, not just directing it. The client base is heavily food and beverage, with additional work spanning manufacturing facility moves, conveyor systems, and scheduled shutdown and turnaround projects. If you're a seasoned field lead who wants variety, field ownership, and a company that puts real value on the people running its jobs, this is worth a conversation.

  • $30–$40/hr, depending on experience and skill mix; welding ability is a direct pay driver
  • Company vehicle and gas card provided to foremen
  • Full Suite of benefits: Health/Vision/Dental, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO
  • Overnight travel: approximately 30% of the year (project-based estimate; varies annually)
  • Looking for candidates in the Reading, PA area

Overview:

  • Run a field crew through the full cycle of a project — rigging, OEM equipment installation, pipe work, plant moves, conveyor installation, and shutdown support
  • Work as a hands-on lead — you are in the work alongside your crew, not only directing it
  • Enter crew hours daily, capture and maintain site photos, and keep project managers informed of schedule and site status
  • Enforce OSHA compliance on every site; train and retrain crew members on applicable safety requirements
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for the client during project execution
  • Coordinate with project managers for job turnovers, material returns, and next-job preparation
  • Participate in takeoff and planning meetings virtually or in person as needed

Preferred Skills/Experiences:

  • Current OSHA 30 certification or documented annual OSHA training — Heavily preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of field supervision experience in industrial or industrial maintenance work — required
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings — required
  • Working knowledge of rigging, millwright work, pipe fitting, and welding fundamentals
  • Welding ability (any process — MIG, TIG, stick) — strongly preferred; directly affects compensation
  • Pipe fitting experience — particularly high value given current project pipeline
  • Background in food and beverage or manufacturing plant environments
  • Comfort with project-based work — no fixed daily location; every project is a different site
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and basic construction or time-entry software

KEYWORDS:
