Essential Qualities

The Technology and Facilities Maintenance Specialist at Tulsa Educare is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Tulsa Educare's technology and safety equipment as well as assisting with routine repairs of Tulsa Educareโ€™s equipment and maintaining a clean and safe campus environment. Tulsa Educare is seeking a Technology and Facilities Maintenance Specialist who will make the commitment to perform with integrity and model these essential qualities:

  • Driven to create and maintain a safe environment where children can play and learn
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and physically able to perform tasks in various environments
  • Independent and creative thinker
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes, demands, and initiatives
  • Qualified (and not prohibited) to work around children
  • Ability to travel to various Educare locations within Tulsa County
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Essential Functions

The functions outlined in this job description are examples of the general nature of those performed by employees in this position.   • Oversee all aspects of Tulsa Educareโ€™s technology and safety equipment such as access control systems, security cameras, phone systems, phones, internet including government assisted technology grants and iPads
  • Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of Tulsa Educareโ€™s technology and safety systems and equipment
  • Monitor security certificates and company compliance of requirements
  • Offer limited technical support to staff related to computer, software and safety systems
  • Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items
  • Serve as internal liaison between Tulsa Educare and technology vendors to ensure all aspects of Tulsa Educareโ€™s technology and safety equipment and software are operational at all times
  • Coordinate, planning, communication and organization annual ย IT rollouts and deployments
  • Create and update electronic forms as needed and make minor updates to Tulsa Educareโ€™s website.
  • Organize with Facilities team to assemble and install technology equipment such as projectors, speakers and Click-Share
  • Offer limited technical and facility support including set up and tear down of Tulsa Educare events and meetings
  • Assist Facilities team as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Knowledge and Skills

Broad knowledge and experience in:

  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality policies
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software and applications
  • Knowledge of web development tools
  • Following safety criteria when performing general maintenance including operating equipment, ladder safety, and general OSHA safety guidelines
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and project follow-up
  • Prioritizing daily tasks with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work well within public spaces while considering children and families
  • Ability to read and interpret building drawings and floor plans
  • Must be able to meet physical, mental, and working conditions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Developing partnerships and work in a team environment.
  • Balancing and prioritizing multiple projects and priorities and following through to completion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/G.E.D required, Associate degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years related experience overseeing technology systems
  • Ability to establish an effective professional manner in all dealings with clients, the general public, co-workers, and vendors.ย 
  • Must be dependable and flexible with regard to working
  • Willing and able to travel between school sites, valid driverโ€™s license, and reliable transportation is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Other

  • Primarily an office position with some local travel (exposure to normal traffic hazards).ย  Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Regular and reliable attendance required.
