 Primary Objective:

Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure the quality of all equipment and machinery

Major Function and Scope:

  • Identify and repair any related defects
  • Setting up machines
  • Perform electrical maintenance
  • Welding
  • Filling propane tanks
  • Charge grinder blades
  • Checking mechanics of lift truck
  • Blow forklift radiator out with compressed air
  • Grinding any materials with electric grinder
  • May be required to operate powered industrial trucks/equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, etc.
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

Type of Experience and Knowledge:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Lift Truck Certification preferred
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
  • Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction
  • Previous experience as Mechanic I or equivalent
  • Understanding of basic mechanical operation of machinery
  • Basic knowledge of tool types and uses
  • May be required to pass Mechanic II skills assessment testing

Competencies:

  • Operate in a team-based environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:

  • May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment
  • Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures
