Job description

Compensation:

$22.00/HR 

What You'll Do:
  • Tape-edge close mattresses according to established work instructions using a closing sewing machine. Including closing Hot Melt Bond units, foam-encased pocketed coil units and open coil units that have various specified upholstered layers
  • Feeds materials into sewing machine as the sewing machine is moved around mattress. Re-threads sewing machine as needed. Ensures quality standards are maintained.
  • Corrects any defective taping on mattresses.
  • Lifts or slides finished mattress onto take away conveyor.
  • Changes the needle and binding tape for the sewing machine as needed.
  • Maintains clean work area and follows proper safety procedures. Sweeps floors as needed.
  • Makes any necessary sewing machine adjustments and handles basic maintenance of machine such as lubrication.
  • Provide assistance in other areas of mattress building as requested.
What You'll Bring:
  • Basic ability to read and write English
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to work safely, take initiative, multi-task, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in sewing machinery and/or in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Must be 18 years or age
  • High School graduate or equivalent GED
  • Prior assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
Job Factors/Work Environments
  • A clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials and limited chemical
  • Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards.
  • Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.
