Qualifications/Knowledge:
a
a Must have 1 to 3 years experience in related field; must have current valid driver's license
a Must have certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training
a Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices; knowledge of computer aided drafting (CAD) principles
a
a Knowledge of transportation design principles
a Knowledge of relevant state and local regulations; knowledge of Georgia landfill regulations
a Knowledge of research, data analysis and report preparation methods
a Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
a Skill in problem solving, prioritizing and planning
a Skill in interpersonal relations
a Skill in directing the work of personnel
a Skill in oral and written communication
Requirements
Directs, manages and assists with projects performed by external contractors and by department construction crews
a Coordinates projects with other offices, private businesses and with federal, state and local agencies
a Reviews construction plans for land disturbance permit approval; reviews erosion control plans
a Participates in Development Review Committee Meetings; provides staff support for meetings of the Board of Zoning
Appeals and Planning Commission
a Develops and designs construction project plans and site layouts
a Assists with tasks associated with landfill operation
a Performs all other related duties as assigned
