Job description

The Concessions Assistant plays a vital role in fostering a communal atmosphere at camp by providing fun snacks, meals, and desserts for campers and guests at Hume’s various coffee shops, restaurants, and snack bars. This individual provides general help and assistance in providing quality products and customer service with a joyful and servant-hearted demeaner.

The Role: 

  • Assist may include cashiering, cleaning, prepping quick serve meals, snacks, coffee, and other products. 

  • Work in location as assigned and be flexible in serving where needed. This may include Snack Shop, Hume Coffee Co., Triple P, etc. 

  • Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors. 

  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a Christ-centered team environment. 

  • Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.
     

Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at start of employment to live in summer staff housing. 

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. 

  • Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed. 

  • Experience in customer service, food service, or barista experience preferred.  

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision. 

  • Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith. 

  • Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed. 


Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to stand, walk, frequently lift 50 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. 

  • Live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.
