Job description

General Statement or Primary Purpose Primary Purpose of Position: The purpose of this position is to co-coordinate the evidenced-based Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) within a ten-county region. This position will work closely and collaboratively with a co-coordinator and a Lead Triple P Coordinator to serve this ten-county region which includes Pitt, Beaufort, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Greene, Craven, Carteret, Pamlico and Wayne counties. This position will also work closely with other staff within local health departments in the targeted counties as well as with community partners and funding agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities or Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to work effectively with people of all educational levels, posses skills in problem solving methodologies and resource utilization. Ability to write and speak effectively. Ability to build cooperation among various groups in carrying out a public health education program.

Ability to understand the social, cognitive and psychological factors affecting clients' receptiveness to service utilization and behavior modification. Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from a four year college or university with a major in health education and one year of experience in public health education or a related field; graduation from a four year college or university and two years experience in public health education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
