Job description

Core Responsibilities

· Trailer Maneuvering: Use a specialized terminal tractor (yard mule) to move trailers to and from loading docks and designated parking areas.

· Inspections + Safety: Conduct daily pre- and post-trip safety checks on yard trucks and trailers, including checking tires, lights, and brakes to ensure they meet Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.

· Yard Inventory: Perform regular "yard checks" to document the location and status (full vs. empty) of trailers and report findings to management.

· Equipment Maintenance: Assist with basic maintenance, such as fueling equipment, cleaning out empty trailers, and coordinating repairs with the shop.

· Communication: Use radios or Yard Management Systems (YMS) to coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse teams to prioritize movements

Key Requirements

· License: A standard driver's license.

· Physical Stamina: Must be able to frequently climb in and out of the cab, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Experience: 1 year of tractor-trailer experience, specifically in backing and maneuvering in tight spaces.

Pay + Hours

· $22/hr

· Training during 1st shift for two weeks, 2nd shift position.
