Triage Medical Assistant Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Hourly Pay Range:

• Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $35.15 base pay hourly rate beginning with the second paycheck in October.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Registered Nurse - Central Triage/Medical Group

• Location: Arlington Heights, IL.

• Full Time: 40 hours/week

• Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Rotating every fourth Saturday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

General Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Quality, is responsible for professional communications regarding patient care, and triage (sorting and prioritizing patients) of clinical pool messagessuch as patient calls, result notes, patient call back, my chart advice request. Participates in Rx request, My Chart Rx request as needed and supervises Medical Assistants in dealing with prescription refill requests and prior authorizations for medications per protocol.

• Appropriately triages telephone calls, answers question and advises patients according to policy and physician orders.

• Management of patient health concerns and symptoms via a telephone interaction utilizing physician-approved protocols for the assessment and management of a range of symptoms.Telephone interactions require assessment, patient education and may require crisis intervention.

• Enter complete notes in EMR system as needed. As calls are handled professionally and sensitively the goals of inappropriately scheduled appointments, a reduction in anxiety and education of patients will increase overall satisfaction and reduce risk when there are medical complications.

• Accurately communicates messages, lab values, and telephoned reports in a timely manner.

• Instructs patients in preparation for home care procedures in accordance with physicians' instructions and patient education tools.

• Performs and documents a preliminary patient assessment including objective information, vital signs, weight, and subjective information relative to the visit using approved care protocols and standing orders.

• Ability to determine urgent issues that require immediate attention i.e. high fever, chest pain, behavioral health crisis, etc.

What you will need:

• Education: Diploma in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferred in Nursing or a healthcare related field with extensive knowledge of medical terminology and disease processes.

• Certification: Professional licensure in the State of Illinois

• Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as an RN required. Minimum one year of telephone triage experience preferred, preferably in medical practice setting.
