Job description

A Tree Cutter is responsible for the safe and efficient removal, pruning, and maintenance of trees in a variety of settings including residential, commercial, and emergency response sites. This role demands physical agility, knowledge of arboricultural practices, and strict adherence to safety standards to ensure the protection of individuals and property. The Tree Cutter often works closely with a crew under the supervision of a Crew Leader to support the health and safety of urban and rural tree environments.

Responsibilities

  • Climb trees safely using specialized equipment to perform cutting and pruning
  • Set up, inspect, and maintain climbing and safety gear
  • Assess trees for health issues, hazards, and structural risks
  • Execute precise pruning and branch removal to promote tree health
  • Identify and mitigate tree-related hazards to ensure public and site safety
  • Remove trees and branches as required by project needs
  • Conduct thorough cleanup of sites following tree work
