Job description

Cutter's Edge is searching for Tree Climbers to join their Arbor team in Boynton Beach, FL! Our Climbers are responsible for safely performing tree pruning, removals, cabling, bracing, and other arboricultural services using climbing techniques, aerial lifts, ropes, and rigging equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship while working at varying heights and in diverse weather conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Climb trees using approved climbing techniques, ropes, saddles, and related equipment.
  • Perform tree pruning and removals according to industry standards and company specifications.
  • Operate chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, stump grinders, and other arboricultural equipment safely and effectively.
  • Set up and utilize rigging systems for controlled lowering of tree limbs and sections.
  • Assist with cabling, bracing, tree preservation, and plant health care services as needed.
  • Conduct pre-job inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and ANSI standards.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members to ensure safe and efficient job completion.
  • Maintain equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Assist with site cleanup and debris removal.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and the public.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in tree care with an emphasis on climbing is required and/or bucket truck operation.
  • Proficient in safely performing all aspects of modern tree care including strong tree ID skills, climbing (with and without spikes), rigging, pruning, and felling techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment.
  • Valid driver's license, preferred, with clean driving record and ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • ISA Certified Arborist credential preferred or willingness to obtain.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb and work at heights of 50+ feet.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and maintain balance while working aloft.
