The Senior Officer, Treasury plays a critical role in supporting and strengthening Calvert Impactโ€™s treasury operations as the organization continues to grow and innovate in the impact investing space. This position is based at Calvert Impactโ€™s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, and operates in a hybrid work environment, combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective cash management, financial integrity, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Officer, Treasury supports the organizationโ€™s treasury and accounting activities and reports to the Vice President & Controller. As a key member of the Finance team, this role exercises sound judgment, delivers strong internal and external customer service, and helps strengthen treasury operations as the organization grows.

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Manage the organizationโ€™s cash surplus in accordance with Treasury Policy.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and liquidity needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement appropriate treasury management products to optimize returns on excess cash.
  • Maintain and manage banking relationships and bank accounts.

Daily Treasury Operations

  • Perform daily treasury activities including cash deposits, payment review and processing, monitoring banking activity, and troubleshooting treasury-related operational issues.
  • Review and approve payments within the NSP platform in coordination with Investor Relations.
  • Monitor and coordinate foreign exchange transactions.
  • Proactively propose improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls in daily treasury operations.

Community Investment Notes & Debt Activities

  • Post Community Investment Note cash transactions in the accounting system.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for Community Investment Notes and Cut Carbon Notes.
  • Resolve discrepancies and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
  • Review annual 1099-INT data and oversee issuance of 1099-INT forms.
  • Monitor and initiate sub-debt payments.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for sub-debt and hedge valuations.

Accounting Close & Audit Support

  • Provide debt and investment reconciliations during monthly close.
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit requests.
  • Maintain complete and well-organized supporting documentation for all recorded treasury transactions.

Collaboration & Other Duties

  • Work closely with Investor Relations to ensure accuracy and integrity of data in NSP.
  • Support other finance and business operations as needed.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support organizational priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)or other relevant certification, a plus.
  • Understanding of treasury operations, cash management, and financial reconciliations within a multi-entity organization.
  • Experience with payment processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to support monthly close processes and external audits.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
