The Community Bank Senior Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing the bank's daily operations to ensure efficiency, security, and compliance. In this role, you will manage key back-office functions, including transaction processing, account management, internal audits, treasury operations, and garnishment/levies/subpoena request, fraud research, improve workflows through technology and strategic planning while serving as a liaison between staff, clients, and executives to ensure excellent service, operational effectiveness, and risk management.

 To thrive/succeed as the Community Bank Senior Operations Officer, you should be able to:

  • 10+ years community banking in a senior operations role, with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role overseeing operational functions.
  • Hands-on advanced knowledge of bank operations and payment systems, including treasury management, ACH, wires, Fed payment systems, Positive Pay, and core banking platforms (FIS Horizon XE preferred).
  • Strong compliance, risk management, and fraud prevention expertise with experience supporting regulatory requirements and internal audit processes.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to improve workflows, analyze data, and implement operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with experience developing policies, presenting to executives, and collaborating with internal teams and clients.

Your responsibilities as the Community Bank Senior Operations Officer will include:

  • Oversee daily bank operations including ACH, wires, deposit processing, debit cards, fraud research, account services, and online banking/cash management/treasury management activities.
  • Manage operational compliance, risk, and audit functions by coordinating internal, external, and regulatory audits, ensuring accurate documentation, quality control, and regulatory readiness.
  • Develop and enhance operational processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, optimize resources, and support regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams by providing operational guidance to departments such as, accounting, loan administration, and branch/lobby services.
  • Support strategic initiatives and vendor/client relationships by partnering with senior leadership, managing operational plans, and resolving complex service issues.
