Job Description Summary
We are seeking a Senior Treasury Manager to lead Treasury Operations for a large life insurance and retirement services financial company. This senior leadership role oversees daily treasury operations, short-term liquidity, treasury and banking initiatives, team performance, and operational controls in a highly regulated financial environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong treasury operations expertise, sound judgment, proven supervisory capability, and the ability to partner effectively with banking providers, business units, technology teams, and offshore support teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and well-controlled execution.
Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the short-term investment desk by monitoring daily cash positions, ensuring accounts are appropriately funded, and identifying opportunities to utilize or invest excess cash.
  • Execute and oversee cash management across multi-currency accounts, including USD, EUR, CAD, and GBP, with others as required.
  • Manage treasury operations activities, including wire processing, payment requirements, bank account activity, and related controls, ensuring transactions are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established requirements. Including long-term debt and equity servicing.
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all treasury operational functions, processes, controls, and dependencies, with the ability to provide direction, serve as an escalation point, and back up critical processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex treasury, banking, payment, bank connectivity, and file transmission issues in partnership with banks, technology teams, and internal business partners.
  • Lead treasury and banking projects, including initiatives involving bank partners, business units, technology teams, and offshore support resources.
  • Support SOX processes, controls, documentation, testing, and audit requests related to treasury operations.
  • Partner with and oversee offshore team members who support daily business-as-usual treasury functions, providing guidance, issue resolution, and process oversight as needed.
  • Manage system changes, implementations, user acceptance testing, and ongoing enhancements for treasury workstations and other treasury tools.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, automation opportunities, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation within Treasury Operations.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving treasury, banking, and payment standards, including ISO 20022-related changes.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve procedures, reporting, metrics, and operational controls to support a scalable and well-controlled payment environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
  • Ten years of treasury, accounting, or finance experience, including five years in a management role
  • Extensive knowledge of treasury operations
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), or obtain within 12 months of job entry date
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with diverse audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Excel and financial business systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • Banking, insurance, or regulated financial services experience, including familiarity with investments, insurance products, premiums, operational risk, controls, and compliance expectations.
  • Hands-on experience with treasury workstations, ERPs, financial platforms, reporting tools, system upgrades, testing, user acceptance testing, or treasury tool implementations.
  • Strong working knowledge of global cash management, banking, wire processing, payment controls, treasury procedures, short-term investments, and related operational dependencies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, Excel, reporting, data analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership, initiative, accountability, sound judgment, project leadership, and ability to lead teams through process, system, and organizational change.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, accountable treasury professional who combines technical treasury knowledge with sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to lead through influence. They will be expected to identify issues, recommend solutions, improve processes, and build strong partnerships across Treasury, banking providers, technology teams, business units, and offshore support teams.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid environment (In office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays)
  • Moderate travel for business meetings and industry conferences (10 to 25%)
  • Periods of peak workload may require extended hours

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $135,000.00 - $179,000.00 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.
