Job description

Job Summary

The VP, Assistant Treasurer will serve as a key member of the Finance leadership team and is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide liquidity, funding and capital markets strategies that support F&G's long-term financial strength, growth objectives and capital optimization goals.

This position reports to the SVP, Capital Management & Treasurer and will interact with multiple teams throughout the organization and all levels of senior management. Additionally, this position will serve as the primary contact for banking partners across the suite of products for consideration in F&G's liquidity strategy and capital markets issuances and will represents the company with investors and other external stakeholders. Plays a critical role in monitoring enterprise liquidity metrics, evaluating funding alternatives, and supporting strategic corporate initiatives. This leader works closely with the Vice President of Capital Management to ensure alignment between liquidity strategy, capital planning, and enterprise capital optimization. While the position does not have direct responsibility for Treasury Operations, it provides strategic leadership and direction to teams responsible for cash forecasting and treasury operations through a matrixed reporting structure.

Duties & Responsibilities

Enterprise Liquidity Strategy

  • Support development and execution of F&G's enterprise liquidity strategy aligned with business objectives, funding requirements, and targeted liquidity targets across operating and holding companies.
  • Monitor liquidity metrics, limits, reporting, and early warning indicators; provide analysis and recommendations to support executive decision-making and proactive liquidity management

Funding Strategy & Capital Markets

  • Lead evaluation and execution of funding alternatives across debt, equity, and funding agreement markets by providing market analysis and recommendations
  • Maintain relationships with banking partners and support investor outreach initiatives

Cash Management Forecasting & Short-term Liquidity Optimization

  • Partner with Finance, Investment, Risk and Treasury Operations to enhance cash forecasting processes, liquidity reporting, and visibility into enterprise funding needs
  • Develop short term liquidity strategies including optimization of excess cash balances, liquidity stress testing, and evaluation of short-term investment approaches within established guidelines

Capital Markets Strategic Decision Support

  • Develop and present liquidity, funding and capital markets materials for Capital Committee and other governance forums
  • Prepare executive reporting, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis to communication liquidity positioning, market developments, and funding considerations.

Process Enhancements

  • Identify opportunities to enhance Treasury processes, reporting capabilities, and operating effectiveness through improved tools and analytics.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have formal people leadership responsibilities but may provide guidance, mentorship, or subject matter expertise to others.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of fixed income markets, corporate finance, and company valuation methods in the Insurance sector is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, Business or related field
  • 15+ years of professional finance experience in life & annuity insurance companies or banking firms
  • 5+ years of experience in Treasury/Capital Markets

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred
