DescriptionThis position is responsible for teaching in the classroom, various clinical settings, in the skills lab, and in the simulation lab for the nursing program. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and instruction online, or in a classroom with distance delivery.
Full-time, tenure-track, (9-months, 34-weeks, 170 days), Faculty bargaining unit position. The starting annual salary for
MSN is $71,958. The starting annual salary for
BSN is $65,852. There are opportunities to earn additional pay with overload each term as defined under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Weekly schedule is generally 3 days on campus, 1 day in clinical setting, and 1 work from home day (usually on Friday's). Schedule may include late afternoons and/or evenings, instruction online, or in a classroom with distance delivery. Position is scheduled to begin in September 2026.
Essential Functions- Teach and/or support both first- and second-year nursing courses.
- Learn and use appropriate technology to support the curriculum, including the use of Canvas and the Simulation lab.
- Teach assigned clinical and campus lab/simulation experiences, conducting group discussions and student conferences.
- Assign grades to clinical work, validate skills, and provide appropriate feedback for simulation.
- Create a positive learning environment for students using innovative, effective and diverse teaching methods to engage students in their own learning and enhance student success.
- Utilize classroom assessment techniques to improve instruction.
- Participating in student advising and college wide efforts to improve student retention and success.
- Evaluate and document student progress; keep students apprised of progress.
- Participate as a member of working committees dealing with instruction, student matters, and/or college-related concerns. Participate in departmental meetings, in-service training and activities, and other required training.
- Assist in curriculum and program development incorporating current educational theories, research, and outcomes assessment strategies. Select appropriate texts, software, and supplemental materials.
- Maintain office hours to meet the needs of students.
- Other duties as may be reasonably assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM: Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current unencumbered Registered Nursing licenses in Oregon and Idaho (or ability to obtain at time of hire). Minimum of three years clinical nursing experience.
PREFERRED: Master of Science in Nursing. Experience in nursing education, clinical coordination, and healthcare simulation. Prior college teaching experience including duties such as advising and curriculum development.

Professional Staff:
Vacation - 20 days (160 hours), per fiscal year (prorated at date of hire and date of termination). Employees are paid for accrued, but unused vacation hours when they leave employment.
Personal Leave - 16 hours, per fiscal year (prorated at date of hire).
Sick - 8 hours per month (unlimited accrual). Employees are not paid out for sick hours when they leave employment.
