Job Summary

The Service Technician performs routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of trailers. This role is responsible for identifying mechanical and electrical issues, completing repairs accurately and efficiently, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose trailer repair needs based on customer concerns and inspections.
  • Provide repair recommendations and assist with preparing estimates.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on brakes, tires, bearings, suspension, lighting, wiring, couplers, jacks, and related trailer systems.
  • Install accessories, upgrades, and modifications on new and used trailers.
  • Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and applicable safety standards.
  • Communicate repair status and recommendations to customers in a professional manner.
  • Complete work orders accurately and maintain service records.
  • Test trailers and repairs as needed to verify proper operation and quality of workmanship.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Receive, unload, and organize trailer and parts deliveries.
  • Assemble, inspect, test, and prepare new trailer inventory for sale.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Assist other technicians and departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends and overtime as business needs require.
  • Regular work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, standing, and working around trailers and equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move equipment, parts, and materials.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • Mechanical repair experience required; trailer service and repair experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand repair instructions, service documentation, and technical information.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
