Working as a Spanish Interpreter at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center you will:

· Facilitate communication between patients and families with LEP and medical center staff.

· Provide accurate, comprehensive, and professional medical interpreting services in-person or remotely.

· Recognize the complexity of the clinical encounter relative to the language barrier, adjust communication to the level of understanding and/or need for clarification.

· Use culturally appropriate behavior to choose the appropriate time to clarify or interject.

· Maintain a sense of cultural awareness while respecting the goals of the encounter.
