Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Iowa, working full-time night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays on a 13-week contract.

Details
  • Adult Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
  • Full-time night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements
  • Active Iowa RN license or compact license currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Prior Med/Surg experience preferred but not required
  • Two recent employment references required for consideration
  • DOB and SSN may be required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Responsible for total patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs
  • Responsibilities include patient and family teaching and directing ancillary personnel
  • Required immunizations include: MMR (2 doses or positive titers), Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines), Polio, Hepatitis B series/titer or signed declination, TDaP (within 10 years), and Flu vaccine (required Oct 1 – Mar 31)
  • TB testing required: negative 2-step Mantoux within 1 year of start, or QuantiFERON Gold; if positive, proof of positive result and chest X-ray required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date required
  • 10-panel drug screen within 1 month of start date required
  • Respiratory fit test within 1 year of start date required (facility can provide if unavailable)
  • Criminal background check required for all states where the candidate holds a license or has lived/worked in the past 7 years (within 30 days of start)
  • Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse) required prior to start; can be completed through facility-provided CareLearning modules if not already certified
  • All compliance documents must be submitted no later than 5 business days prior to the contract start date
