Job description

Telemetry Secretary Technician

The Telemetry Secretary Technician performs the duties of a Telemetry Tech, Nurse Tech and Unit Secretary as needed in support of the department's operations. Provides continuous EKG monitoring and interpretation of the rhythms, including lethal arrhythmias. Notifies appropriate staff of arrhythmias. Oversees the care, maintenance and tracking of telemetry equipment and servicing, reporting problems to the Unit Manager. Provides safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care services under the supervision of the licensed nurse. Assists with unit staffing, recording information in the medical records, and ensuring that the unit's reporting and documentation of information be completed in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • One (1) year experience performing Nursing/Patient Care Assistant duties in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility
  • One (1) year experience performing Administrative/Unit Secretarial duties in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Rhythm Recognition Course Certificate
  • Successful completion of the CMH Telemetry Technician competency within three (3) months of hire
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
