Job description

Overview
The Monitor Technician is skilled in reading and interpreting cardiac monitors and arrhythmias.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for clerical support on the patient care unit. Maintains accurate order entry transmission of physician's orders to ancillary departments. Works under the direction of a licensed nurse. Accurately and timely transcribes all orders from the chart to order entry in Imed including CCU orders and DOU emergency orders. Utilizes computer skills for accurate unit census and order entry, and maintains all log books, (i.e. census, telemetry, consults).
Qualifications
Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course and pass dysrhythmia test. Monitor Technician experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of medical terminology.
