Job description

Cardiac Monitoring Technician (Evening Shift)

The Cardiac Monitoring Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely monitoring of patients' cardiac activity. Working Day and Evening shifts from our Walnut Creek, CA location on a hybrid schedule, this position is responsible for real-time analysis of ECG transmissions using Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF) software. The technician identifies cardiac events, supports timely clinical decision-making, and maintains the highest standards of quality and patient safety.

Duties & Responsibilities

ECG Monitoring & Clinical Analysis

  • Monitor, review, and interpret ECG recordings and associated algorithm findings for clinical accuracy and completeness
  • Evaluate cardiac rhythms to determine if physician notification criteria are met and document all required actions
  • Process critical and serious cardiac findings with a high degree of accuracy and urgency
  • Perform technical analysis of cardiac data and ensure accurate event processing

Physician Notification & Escalation

  • Escalate abnormal or critical ECG findings in accordance with established physician notification protocols
  • Communicate cardiac monitoring status to clinics and physicians via inbound and outbound calls
  • Support physicians and clinical teams by answering monitoring and notification-related questions
  • Respond to all clinical inquiries promptly and with professional expertise

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain a high standard of quality assurance in all analyzed and processed data
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Complete all required training and remain current in ECG rhythm interpretation and evolving clinical practices
  • Meet all productivity and performance standards following completion of initial training

Team & Operational Support

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and support a positive, patient-focused work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications

Education โ€” High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.

Experience โ€” Minimum of 1 year of ECG analysis or cardiac monitoring experience preferred.

Certification โ€” CCT (Certified Cardiographic Technician) or CRAT (Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician) certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) โ€” preferred.

Training & Certification Support

Zywie Healthcare is committed to developing future cardiac monitoring professionals. Candidates who demonstrate strong aptitude, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care may be considered even if they do not have prior cardiac monitoring experience or a current CCT/CRAT certification. Comprehensive training will be provided, including ECG rhythm interpretation education, hands-on monitoring experience, and preparation for the Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) examination. Employees will be expected to successfully obtain CRAT certification within established employment requirements and will receive the support, resources, and coaching necessary to achieve certification success.
