Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night-shift Med/Surg (Ortho Trauma) position in Lewisville, TX, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details
  • 32-bed Ortho Trauma / Med/Surg unit located on the 4th floor of A Tower
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 13-week contract
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Unit staffed with RNs, LVNs, and PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 4–5 nurses (RN/LVN mix), and 2–3 PCTs
  • Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and Welch Allyn vital signs machines
  • EMR: Meditech
  • May float to the Surgical Telemetry Unit or Inpatient Rehab
  • No on-call requirement
Requirements
  • Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
  • Typical procedures include patient ambulation and wound care as needed
  • A dedicated admission/discharge team assists with the admitting and discharging process for Med/Surg patients
  • Charge experience and preceptor experience are preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
  • Strong team culture with staff that supports one another during busy shifts
