Healthcare Support is seeking a travel nurse RN Utilization Review for a travel nursing job in Nyack, New York.

Job Description & Requirements
  • Specialty: Utilization Review

  • Shift: 8 hours, days
  • Employment Type: Travel

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant clinical medical surgical, ICU or ER experience preferred
  • Experience in managed care performing utilization review and discharge planning preferred.
  • HC-PRI Certified and PRI screen preferred. CCM certification preferred
  • Current NYS RN license required.
  • Membership in a professional organization preferred.  Qualities that include effective written and verbal communication skills, decision-making and problem solving skills, and comprehensive assessment skills.
     

Description:

  • Collaboratively implements and facilitates patient care plans from pre-hospital to post-discharge while managing an assigned unit case load.  Responsible for the assessment, planning and monitoring options and services to effectively provide an individualized plan for the patient across the continuum of care.  Using independent judgment and discretion, the continuum must be reassessed as an ongoing process for the individual being served by the RN Care Manager and Social Worker Care Manager. Utilizes clinical knowledge and competence, positive communication skills (both verbal and written), problem solving and conflict resolution techniques, ability to effect change, strong skills in assessment, organization, and time management.  Enforce the proper application of hospital policies and procedures regarding appropriateness and timeliness of clinical care given. Can effectively recommend that staff (either Medical or Nursing) be disciplined to the Department Chair when the care is below the standard level.
