Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Specialist with cath lab or interventional lab scrubbing experience and ARRT or RCIS certification.

Details
  • Work in the Invasive Heart & Vascular unit assisting physicians with digital radiographic imaging of the heart, peripheral vessels, and related structures
  • 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM on rotating days, 3 days per week
  • On-call requirement of 1-2 weeknights and every third weekend
  • Holiday coverage as needed
Requirements
  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy or Radiology, or RCIS certification through CCI required (license required if applicable)
  • Scrubbing experience within a Cath Lab or Interventional Lab required
  • Experience in a cardiovascular specialist position required
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Science program, special procedures program, accredited nursing school, or completion of a cardiac catheterization training course (transcripts required)
Additional Information
  • Control radiographic equipment and set x-ray acquisition parameters to acquire quality cardiac and peripheral images
  • Practice radiation safety using distance and appropriate protective attire
  • Apply knowledge of hemodynamics, diagnostic, interventional, and peripheral procedures including devices and protocols
  • Perform daily room preparations, quality control checks, and in-room inventory and supply management
  • Document patient care data, charges, and complications using systems including Witt, HeartLab, ICE, and IVUS
  • Prepare scrub table and patient for procedures while maintaining sterile technique
  • Prepare lines and devices for injectable fluids, insert IVs, and administer drugs under direct physician supervision
  • Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on cardiac catheterization lab equipment
  • May perform lead worker responsibilities including training and assigning work to other specialists or staff
