Title: Travel RN - Emergency Room (ER)
Department: Emergency Room
Type: 13-Week Travel Contract
Schedule: Night Shift 3x12 | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | Block Scheduling Available
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Travel ER RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department assignment within a combined Adult/Pediatric ER setting. The RN will provide emergency and trauma care to patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, neurological, cardiac, and pediatric emergencies.
This facility is a Stroke Certified and STEMI Certified center with preference for candidates who have prior Level II Trauma experience. Strong triage, critical thinking, and emergency stabilization skills are essential. Candidates must be comfortable managing ventilated patients, emergency cardiac events, pediatric emergencies, and high-acuity ER cases.
Travel experience is preferred for this assignment.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric ER patients
  • Perform triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity
  • Assess, monitor, and stabilize emergency and trauma patients
  • Initiate and maintain IV access and administer blood products as needed
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias
  • Care for ventilated patients and assist with respiratory emergencies
  • Administer procedural sedation and emergency medications
  • Support STEMI and stroke protocol activations
  • Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
  • Follow infection prevention and PPE protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during emergency response situations
  • Float as needed within ER-related patient care areas
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 1.5-2 years recent ER RN experience required
  • Travel nursing experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience in combined Adult/Pediatric ER preferred
  • Block scheduling available
  • Stroke and STEMI facility experience preferred
  • Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • Candidates residing in restricted Texas counties are NOT eligible for submission
Restricted Counties:
Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
Qualifications
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Experience:
  • Minimum 1.5-2 years recent Emergency Room RN experience required
  • Experience in high-volume ER or trauma settings preferred
  • Combined Adult/Pediatric ER experience preferred
  • Travel experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred
License:
  • Active RN License
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • NIHSS required
  • PALS required
  • TNCC required
  • SAMA preferred
