THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly capable, commercially minded Financial Controller and Business Partner to join our Specialist & Adventure Division supporting our North America FIT businesses, including African Travel, Lion World Travel, and Brendan Vacations.


This is far more than a traditional Controller role.


You will serve as both:

  • A strategic business partner to senior leadership providing performance insight.
  • The finance leader responsible for financial control, reporting integrity, and operational insight. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at both the strategic and detailed levels - a hands-on leader who can influence decision-making, improve performance, and build strong financial discipline within a growing international business.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Strategic Finance, Business Partnering & Performance Insight 

  • Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive business performance and strategic decision-making 
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling 
  • Deliver meaningful KPI reporting, profitability analysis, and commercial insight 
  • Evaluate investments, risks, and growth opportunities 
  • Help build a stronger data-driven performance culture across the business 

Financial Control & Operations

  • Oversee month-end close, reporting accuracy, reconciliations, audit, tax, and treasury activities 
  • Ensure strong financial controls and integrity across multiple entities 
  • Partner with shared services and global finance teams to improve processes and scalability 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across systems, reporting, and operational finance 

Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop finance team members, establishing clear objectives and fostering a commercially focused, high-performing finance function 
  • Act as a key finance advisor to executive leadership 
  • Support transformation initiatives within a growing, globally connected organization

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • CPA (or equivalent accounting qualification) 
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field
  • 5-10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience 
  • Strong blend of:  Financial controllership, FP&A / forecasting, Commercial business partnering 
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel and ERP experience
  • Experience supporting senior business leaders and influencing decision-making 
  • Experience managing and influencing remote teams
  • A collaborate mindset with a passion for developing others
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on

NICE TO HAVE

  • Multi-entity or complex organizational experience preferred 
  • Solid knowledge of Oracle preferred
  • Travel, hospitality, or consumer-facing industry experience is a plus
