Surgical Technician / Technologist Contract Role
Location: Utica, NY 13502
Weekly Payrate: $1,720 - $1,880
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Schedule: 10hr Day; 7.00AM - 5:30PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Description:

The Surgical Technician / Surgical Technologist will provide surgical assistance in the operating room by preparing instruments, equipment, and sterile field, and by assisting during surgical procedures. The role requires experience in trauma and general surgeries, including robotic-assisted procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and available.
  • Assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses.
  • Maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures.
  • Monitor and account for all surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
  • Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, including the DaVinci robotic system.
  • Ensure patient safety and support during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient care.
  • Document all procedures and maintain accurate records using Epic EMR.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of surgical scrub experience (REQUIRED)
  • Trauma Experience: Must have trauma surgery experience (REQUIRED)
  • Surgical Tech Certification: NBSTSA or NCCT certified (REQUIRED)
  • Certification may be grandfathered based on experience.
  • BLS Certification: American Heart Association (REQUIRED)
  • EMR: Experience with Epic preferred

  • Candidates outside a 75-mile radius qualify for travel pay.
