• Conduct thorough and trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' trauma histories and guide treatment planning.
• Craft and execute individualized treatment plans aimed at promoting recovery and resilience in trauma-affected clients.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support patient healing.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, creating a supportive atmosphere that enables patients to process their trauma and learn effective coping strategies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Provide timely crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies to ensure patient safety and stability.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, potential coping mechanisms, and external resources available for further support.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation that aligns with legal, ethical, and clinical standards.
• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities emphasizing trauma-informed care practices.
• Remain informed about current research and leading practices in trauma therapy to actively enhance your therapeutic skills.

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will work primarily with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma and are seeking a safe space to heal. This population often includes survivors of abuse, neglect, violence, accidents, and other distressing life events. Your role is critical in guiding these individuals toward recovery and fostering resilience, which has the potential to transform their lives.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, highlighting your background in traumatic stress and trauma-focused modalities.

• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed therapeutic techniques.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering effective trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that reflect a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.
• A collaborative spirit, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
