Trauma Informed Care Consultant Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Family Matters Care Consultants is looking for a dedicated Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team in Orlando, Florida. This full-time role focuses on providing specialized mental health support to individuals affected by trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This position offers a flexible, remote work setting, enabling you to connect with patients from the comfort of your home while being part of a dedicated team focused on trauma-informed care. Our clinic operates within a comprehensive community health framework, allowing for collaborative care with multidisciplinary professionals. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility needed to accommodate patient needs.

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories and develop appropriate treatment strategies.
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that emphasize trauma recovery, resilience-building, and coping strategies tailored to each patient's unique situation.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to process their experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care that addresses the holistic needs of each patient.
• Provide crisis intervention services to support patients during trauma-related emergencies and ensure immediate assistance is available.
• Educate patients and their families about understanding trauma responses and available coping mechanisms, enhancing their knowledge and resilience.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in line with state regulations and ethical standards, ensuring all patient records are up-to-date.
• Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development activities related to trauma-informed care methodologies.
• Stay informed on the latest research, innovations, and best practices in trauma therapy, contributing to the ongoing development of our clinic's therapeutic approaches.

Your primary focus will be on patients who have experienced trauma, with an emphasis on building trust, fostering hope, and guiding clients through their recovery journeys. You will work closely with individuals affected by PTSD, complex trauma, and a variety of related psychological challenges, ensuring that each patient receives tailored support reflecting their unique needs.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in providing trauma-informed care is preferred.
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and proven methodologies associated with trauma-informed treatment.
• Proficient in delivering trauma-focused therapies, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that foster a supportive therapeutic relationship.
• A calm and composed demeanor, especially when managing high-stress situations, is essential.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and a general proficiency in computer applications are required.
• Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, contributing positively to teamwork and cooperative care efforts.

While 2 years of post-licensure experience are preferred, we appreciate candidates with diverse experiences in trauma responsive settings, including work with underserved populations or various healthcare environments. Familiarity with specific treatment modalities, such as EMDR or TF-CBT, is highly desirable.
