Job description

We have a client looking to add to their team of trash collectors in their Elgin, SC depot.

These positions have temp to hire potential. You will need you own reliable transportation for these positions as the depot is in a remote location not accessible by mass transit.

The job is Monday to Friday and starts at 6:30AM and lasts until the route is finished (usually10-13 hours so there is great overtime potential)

It is a full time position so workers are expected to show up everyday (unless prior arrangements were made with their supervisor)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10-13 hour shifts
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime

Job Summary

Responsible for collecting garbage, debris, and recyclables from homes, streets, and businesses. Picks up garbage bins and dumps refuse into trucks.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Pick up debris and refuse from homes and businesses.
  • Manually move material into the back of the truck
  • Replace trash cans curbside.
  • Pick up leaves and yard refuse.
  • Accompany drivers when transporting trash to dump, landfill, or recycling center.
  • Lift cans by hand and empty into truck
  • Use a hydraulic lift to empty contents of the dumpster into their truck.
  • Operate automated or semi-automated hoisting devices.

Depending on the day you will be assigned to one of three routes:

Residential (Household trash) Yard Waste or recycling
