Job description

Position Overview
Assist seniors by providing for transportation needs in accordance with Area Office on Aging (AOoA) and Neighborhood Health Association Policy
Essential Responsibilities
  • Follows the guidance and management of the Senior Services Director
  • Drives designated Senior Service vehicle(s)
  • Schedules required maintenance of Senior Center vehicle(s) in coordination with the Facilities department
  • Maintains the senior center vehicles in good working condition and ensures it internal/external cleanliness
  • Have documentation of daily inspection and testing of wheel chair ramp
  • Maintain and submit monthly reports such as, transportation logs, daily sign-up sheets, and daily inspection logs
  • Must follow and maintain requirements of Area Office on Aging Transportation Service Specifications
  • Assist with daily operation of center activities as needed
  • Assist with senior chores (errands) as needed
  • Provided needed escort unit services
  • Performs other duties related to the Senior Services Center as assigned

Qualifications
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable personal transportation with proof of insurance (meeting minimum state requirements)
  • Minimum 2 years licensed driving experience
  • Per AOoA requirement complete an AAA Approved Defensive Driver Training Course at least every three years
  • Per AOoA requirement complete AAA Approved passenger assistance refresher course at least every three years
  • Must have signed statement from a licensed medical provider, with specific requirements in order to meet transportation service specifications of funders or a Commercial Driver's License
  • Computer experience/skill with Windows, Microsoft Office products are required; internet and email programs preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Ability to lift minimum of 30 pounds, on occasion, when transporting items for seniors
  • Must show sincere interest in working with older adults as demonstrated through past involvement in providing social services, preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills.
  • Must be sensitive to cultural, religious and ethnic diversity.
