Transportation Manager

Shift: Mon to Fri, 8 am to 430 pm

Status: Full time

Location: St Francis LIFE Riverfront, Wilmington, DE

Position Purpose:

The primary purpose of your job position is to responsible for the transportation program; including transport of participants, meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy and any other transportation as deemed necessary.

Position Details:

May occasionally be required to respond to on call inquiries regarding transportation needs on the weekend.

May be required to visit the participant homes to assess participant transportation needs.

Requires local travel within new Castle County. Travel between Wilmington and Newark PACE programs will be required weekly per the need of the Newark site.

What you will do:

  • Serve on the interdisciplinary team (IDT), attending morning updates and reporting changes in participants' baseline status to appropriate staff on a daily basis.
  • Supervise transportation staff, oversee hiring, training, and daily operations.
  • Ensure responsibility for running and maintaining transportation scheduling software program
  • Ensure effective daily communications between the Center, transportation drivers, dispatch and transportation coordinator.
  • Ensure the daily work schedules are communicated to colleagues.
  • Ensure coordinating and scheduling daily delivery of home delivered meals, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), supplies and miscellaneous items requested.
  • Oversee the vehicle maintenance program, repairs and assist with research for purchase of new vehicles.
  • Responsible for ensuring participant satisfaction as it relates to transportation.
  • Collaborate on budgeting and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Manage third party contracts for services, maintain comprehensive vendor list and ensure contracted staffing levels are appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; College degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in working with the frail or elderly population.
  • Two (2) years of administrative/supervisory experience in a transportation setting.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the transportation industry. A combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing required.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Must manage conflict well, have high decision-making quality and flexibility to adapt to ongoing change.
  • Ability and skills to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the organization in line with our mission, vision, and philosophy.
  • Position may require 10% of travel within the Centers geographic region.
