Job description

Location: Liverpool, NY

Department: Dot Transportation, Inc.

Reports To: Director of Transportation

Salary Range: $80,259 - $120,388, annually, plus bonus opportunity

As a Transportation Manager, you will provide service to internal and external customers, as well as manage and contain costs while effectively managing the driver and dispatching staff.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO

  • Contain costs through effective routing of customer orders and managing inbound freight by dispatching staff.
  • Utilize team and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
  • Manage transfer processes between distribution centers by working closely with distribution center managers.
  • Address and resolve customer issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent Dot experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft office programs

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

  • Prior management experience of 3-5 years minimum
  • Prior transportation experience
  • Ability to function in a multi-task environment

ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Travel โ€“ Occasional overnight travel to other company facilities or outside facilities for training. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
  • Schedule โ€“ Ability to work flexible hours (weekend, night shift and on-call) based upon facility needs.
