We are seeking an SAP Transportation Management (TM) Specialist to play a hands-on role in designing, configuring, and supporting SAP TM solutions across transportation planning, execution, and settlement. This role supports our logistics and supply chain transformation strategy, leveraging SAP S/4HANA TM, integrations with logistics partners, and transportation data for operational visibility and analytics.

SAP S/4HANA TM serves as the core platform for transportation planning and execution, integrated with SAP modules (SD, MM, EWM) and external carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners. This role is ideal for a senior SAP TM professional who can own transportation solutions end-to-end while collaborating closely with logistics, integration, and analytics teams, with a strong focus on visibility, monitoring, and exception management.

Essential Job Functions

SAP Transportation Management (TM)

  • Design, configure, and support SAP TM processes including freight order management, transportation planning and optimization, execution, carrier selection and tendering, and freight settlement
  • Serve as a senior functional expert for TM solution design, configuration, and production support
  • Ensure alignment with end-to-end supply chain processes across Order-to-Cash and Source-to-Pay
  • Configure TM master data including transportation lanes, resources, business partners, and charge management schemas

SAP & External Integration

  • Support integrations with external transportation platforms, carriers, tracking providers, and logistics partners
  • Collaborate with SAP technical teams to ensure integrations meet TM process requirements
  • Support EDI/B2B message exchanges (shipment status, tenders, confirmations, invoices, bills of lading)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues with internal teams and external partners
  • Ensure scalability and stability of logistics partner integrations

Data & Analytics Enablement

  • Enable transportation data integration into enterprise analytics and reporting platforms
  • Support data pipelines for freight cost analysis, performance metrics (OTIF, carrier KPIs), and shipment visibility
  • Design and support batch, near real-time, and event-driven integration patterns
  • Partner with analytics teams to ensure TM data supports enterprise reporting and data models

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Support SAP TM across the full lifecycle including design, testing, deployment, and production support
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and exception management capabilities
  • Identify recurring issues and drive preventative improvements
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and system configurations
  • Identify optimization opportunities, performance issues, and technical debt
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and logistics transformation initiatives

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Partner with logistics, transportation, and supply chain stakeholders to deliver business-aligned solutions
  • Collaborate with SAP functional (SD, MM, EWM), integration, and analytics teams
  • Evaluate and adopt new SAP TM capabilities including embedded analytics, event-based processing, and real-time visibility tools
  • Drive innovation in transportation planning, execution, and digital logistics

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in SAP Supply Chain solutions, with at least 4 years on SAP Advance Transportation Management
  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting SAP S/4HANA Advance Transportation Management
  • Strong understanding of:
    Transportation planning and execution processes
    Freight order lifecycle and settlement processes
    SAP TM master data and charge management
  • Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP and non-SAP systems using IDocs, APIs, or EDI
  • Knowledge of logistics integration standards and communication methods
  • Familiarity with carrier integration and logistics network processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP Embedded TM in S/4HANA
  • Experience with SAP Event Management or Transportation Visibility solutions
  • Experience with B2B/EDI standards in logistics
  • Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP EWM, SD, or GTS
  • Knowledge of freight settlement integration with SAP FI/CO
  • Familiarity with transportation analytics and KPI frameworks
