Job description

Summary:
The Security - Parking Enforcement Officer is responsible for monitoring and enforcing parking regulations on hospital property to ensure safe, accessible, and efficient use of parking areas for patients, visitors, and staff. This position provides assistance and directions to the public while maintaining compliance with the university and hospital parking policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
  1. Parking Enforcement - Monitors hospital parking lots, and designated areas to ensure compliance with campus parking regulations and policies.
  2. Violation Enforcement - Issues warnings or citations for parking violations including unauthorized parking, improper use of designated spaces, blocking fire lanes, or parking in restricted areas in accordance with the university and departmental guidelines.
  3. Parking Area Monitoring - Conducts routine patrols of parking lots, garages, and patient drop-off areas to identify violations, safety concerns, or operational issues.
  4. Access and Space Management - Ensures reserved, accessible, patient, and emergency parking areas remain available for their intended use.
  5. Customer Assistance - Provides directions and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff regarding parking locations, hospital entrances, and campus navigation.
  6. Reporting and Documentation - Documents parking violations, safety concerns, and incidents according to departmental procedures and prepares reports as required.
  7. Communication with Security/Police Department - Reports suspicious activity, safety hazards, or violations observed while performing duties to the Police/Security Department.
  8. Professional Presence - Maintains a visible presence in parking areas to encourage compliance with parking regulations and promote a safe and orderly environment.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Valid North Carolina Driver's license, with vehicle operations/driving record requirements met.
• CPR Certification prior to completion of 12 months of employment.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
• Must be proficient in oral and written communication. Basic computer skills.
