Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:  FUEL TRANSPORT/DELIVERY DRIVER

Summary: 

Safely and on time, our drivers transport fuel from suppliers to where it’s needed, keeping America’s wheels rolling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and deliver product to storage facility/customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner, ensuring the truck is operated in a safe manner at all times
  • Follow all guidelines and regulations for hauling petroleum products
  • Maintain logs with each shipment, completing daily invoices and reports
  • Inspect trucks and trailers per DOT requirements (brakes, engine oil, water levels, lights, loading hoses, etc.). Complete maintenance report on all deficiencies.
  • Report all accidents, traffic violations, and damage to vehicles.
  • Complete daily maintenance report and notify supervisor of any needed repairs.
  • Connect hoses between trailer and unloading/loading facility and monitor unloading/loading process to avoid spills and ensure that equipment is functioning properly.
  • Manage all aspects of the load on truck and be responsible for all shortages and damages
  • Maintain cleanliness of truck both inside and out.
  • Ensure on time loading and unloading and communicate with vendors/customers if delays occur
  • Provide excellent customer service, treating all customers in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Observe company, federal, state and local policies, regulations and laws, and adhere to company safety policies at all times
  • Be available to load and/or unload your loads as needed
  • Make out daily trip sheet and other paper work as required
  • Complete any other duties or special projects as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Maintain at all times Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker and Air Brake endorsements
  • Two years of driving experience with OTR/Fuel
  • Successfully pass criminal,driving record screening, and DOT physical/drug test
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English
  • Lift, carry, push, pull items weighing up to 80 pounds, walk, stand, sit, bend and kneel
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Age requirements may apply in order to remain in compliance with State and Federal laws
